New Democrats call on citizens to submit their New Year's Resolutions for SC politicians

As we enter 2010, we also enter a new legislative session in Columbia. With unemployment rates among the highest in the nation and no big ideas emerging from General Assembly leadership, SC New Democrats asked South Carolinians what they would do if given the opportunity to lead, what would be their New Year's Resolution for the politicians in Columbia?
With over 500 submissions already submitted, SC New Democrats are getting some great ideas from ordinary South Carolinians while lawmakers insist on making their fights about partisan politics and taking up the politically-easy issues rather than rolling up their sleeves to tackle the tough problems.
As long as our schools continue to deteriorate from lack of funding for basic maintenance, rural graduation rates hover near the bottom of the list, and South Carolinians continue to lose their jobs with no relief in sight, SC New Democrats will continue to fight on behalf of residents of SC, all of whom deserve better than what Columbia is giving them right now.
