Our state is in crisis. Not only is unemployment near the highest in the nation and not only is the President of the United States, in front of a Joint Session of Congress, using our schools as an example of why we urgently need education reform, but day after day our public officials are ridiculed in the national media and have become the butt of jokes for late-night comedians.

But there is some good news. People are tired of the same old 'politics as usual' games in Columbia, and Democrats across South Carolina are gaining momentum. And the timing couldn't be better. We can win in 2010.

We're not saying it will be easy, but Democrats do have what it takes to win, but we need to work together make it happen.

• RUN or recruit candidates - run for office yourself or help recruit bold and visionary candidates at all levels, who support real change and reform. If you will even seriously think about running, contact us, we'll help you and guide you through the process. Or, you can help us recruit candidates who will run.


• WORK for change - roll up your sleeves and go to work, take on important task, assume responsibility and get things done. We have lots of things you can do right now to get started. You can do things online or in the streets to help. Just give us some time and we'll get you started.
